Hyderabad, July 2026: The Telangana government has introduced a new urban housing initiative under the Indiramma Housing Scheme for Low-Income Group (LIG) families living in the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) area of Hyderabad. The scheme aims to provide affordable high-rise housing to eligible low-income families residing within the Hyderabad Outer Ring Road (ORR) region.

The initiative is being implemented under the supervision of the Telangana Housing Department and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. The larger housing programme proposes the development of 1 lakh LIG flats, with the first phase covering 7,680 flats across 16 Assembly Constituencies.

Importantly, people who have already applied under the general Indiramma Housing Scheme may still be required to submit a fresh application for the CURE LIG housing project.

Financial Structure of the Scheme

The housing project follows a vertical construction model, with multi-storey residential buildings planned on government land in different parts of Hyderabad.

According to the scheme details, eligible beneficiaries receive government support towards the cost of land and construction, while the beneficiary is required to contribute their specified share through instalments.

The estimated market value of individual flats may vary depending on the location and surrounding property prices.

Beneficiary Payment Schedule

Selected applicants are not required to pay their entire contribution at one time. The payment is proposed to be made in stages linked to construction progress.

The indicative payment structure includes:

  • Initial Booking Stage: ₹1 lakh, with adjustment of the EMD where applicable
  • Intermediate Stage 1: ₹2 lakh
  • Intermediate Stage 2: ₹2 lakh
  • Final Stage: Remaining amount before possession

The allotted flats are also subject to a 10-year resale restriction. Beneficiaries may, however, be permitted to mortgage the property with eligible banks for housing finance, subject to applicable rules.
