Financial Assistance of ₹5 Lakh
Under the scheme, eligible families can receive financial assistance of up to ₹5 lakh for the construction of a permanent house. The amount is intended to help beneficiaries meet construction expenses and reduce the financial burden on low-income households. The financial assistance is generally released according to the progress of construction and applicable government procedures.
For families who do not own residential land, the government may also provide house plots according to eligibility and availability. In eligible cases, residential sites can be allotted up to 250 square yards.
Housing for Urban Beneficiaries
The Telangana government has also proposed an urban housing model, particularly for beneficiaries in Hyderabad’s Core Urban Region (CURE). Under this model, eligible families can be provided with apartments in multi-storey buildings.
The proposed flats have approximately 400 square feet of carpet area and 528 square feet of built-up area. Under the model, the government provides a subsidy of ₹5 lakh, while the tentative contribution from the beneficiary may be around ₹6 lakh, depending on the project and applicable government conditions.
Who Can Apply?
The Indiramma Illu Scheme is primarily intended for families who do not have adequate permanent housing. Applicants must generally be residents of Telangana and satisfy the conditions prescribed by the government.
For certain urban applications in Hyderabad, applicants may be required to demonstrate 10 years of residency. The applicant’s family should generally not own a pucca house. Additional conditions may apply when the applicant is seeking a government house plot.
Income eligibility also plays an important role. The applicable income ceiling can differ depending on the category and housing model. For some urban housing projects, the annual family income limit may be up to ₹6 lakh.
Special consideration is given to economically and socially disadvantaged groups, including SC, ST, BC, and minority communities, subject to the official selection guidelines.
